It's time to Reflect

Blogging is a totally new new-media experience for me that I have never ever thought of doing before studying Christoph's course. I even seldom post a status on facebook or leave a comment except to my best friends. It is hard for my friends to imagine I would build up a blog to share some of my views.

This new experience has brought me a lot of things, say, providing me a platform for interacting with auidences, though there are not many in fact. Blogging did offer me a great environment to share my own idea and whatever I would like to say. Apart from simply sharing my own ideas, I have also learnt to attach my posts with videos or photos in order to gain more attention and make my blog fancy. Maybe it's the difference between diary and blog. Since all those postings were not written for personal memory but instead as a sharing with public, I've got to engage audiences into my blog, providing with an area for interaction.

Besides, use of language is a point that I have to beware of because I have to write with a relaxing rather than a essay-like tone. I, however, am good at writing or more precisely, I am not used to write causally. That's what I need to improve, and my proficiency in Englsih as well.

Throughout these weeks, I have posted a couple of posts. Among all of them, I would like Magic Appeal of Whatsapp to be evaluated in detail. As it is the latest post I have done, I believe that I have done a better job for that one. Hopefully it won't disappoint you^^

And I have left a few comments before, please check them out from below.

Lastly, thanks all for visting my Blogs!

Magic Appeal of Whatsapp

Whatsapp is currently one of most frequently used applications of both IOS and Android worldwide. The daily volume of messages from all of the world reaches 10 billion, which is unimaginably mad.
What is the secret of the most successful ever little green icon?
It might be its functionality, which enables us to share our photo, video or location etc. easily that conventional message function cannot offer. Furthermore, we used to consider whether he or she was using the same service provider before sending the messages since messaging with people using different one would suffer from charging. But now, we are all free to message with others using Whatsapp, which works whenever Internet service is available. This pioneering idea has turned out to the great success of Whatsapp.

There is yet another feature of Whatsapp that makes it tremendously popular and rampant among us - the group function. This allows us to form various groups regarding to different areas. For instance, we could create groups like "7a class" or "CityU", where people in the groups could chat and share together, doubling the funs and diminsihing the troubles.

Some, however, may doubt that there are other similiar applications like "line" or "wechat", why Whatsapp can still be the superior over the market. Recalling to a news, the founder of Whatsapp revealed that the basic concept of developing Whatsapp was "less is more", which implies that what they are doing is not creating more features but optimizing it as much as possible. They believe what they have developed are sufficiently excellent and the remaining job they have is to sustain and foster it.

While plenty of us are obseesed with magic appeal of this little green icon, neither you nor me can deny the great success of it. No matter you were once attracted by "Line" or "Wechat", eventually you would find out the beauty and art of Whatsapp, which is changing our life significantly.

Insane Online Shopping Nowadays

A decade ago, nobody would believe in online shopping and realize what it actually is.

A decade later, it's all about online shopping. From ebays, yahoo auction to Amazon, Alibaba or Taobao, online shopping has been rising and transforming our shopping style. And the mode has been various as well, not just business-to-customer, but further extended to customer-to-customer and business-to-business.

The question is why online shopping is booming incredibly. Here comes few reasons.

First of all, definitely the convenience that it offers. As our life is getting busier, especially for those who work in metropolises, people tends to seek for a more convenient way for time-saving. The online shopping exactly fits for their wish. We can simply browse around the net like Taobao, ebays or whatever, which provide us enormous range of choice of goods. There is no longer "window shopping", but "Windows" shopping instead.

Besides, the cheaper price that it offers. The price we might find in Taobao is unbelievably cheap when compare to high-street  price coz the cost of rent is eliminated as well as salespeople's wage. The inexpensive price of clothes provides a strong incentive and motivation for people to shop online instead of shopping in malls or town squares.

The great successes of Taobao, ebays or Alibaba have again showed us the magic power of Internet which contains of unlimited of potential business opportunities. Making a good use of it could probably build up another legend like Alibaba.

Go "Google" It

Google, which connects us with the flood of information whenever we need, is one of the most popular online search engines nowadays. No matter we are researching for a marketing proposal or a term paper, Google is definitely the first tool that pops up in our mind.
The convenience and accessibility it offers lead to a highly effortless life when it comes to questions we have confronted. The extremely powerful searching engine is even able to provide the best website when u type in the whole question. So here comes an interesting website for those who asks dumb questions, lmgtfy(which stands for let me google that for you).

The strong capability of Google, however, triggers some side-effects that we depend too much on it. After long-term usage of it, all of we are somehow less capable of researching without the help of Internet or in fact, all kind of searching engines. It is hard, if not impossible, to imagine the world without Google(or more precisely, all searching engines). So, everyone should think of this and try to figure sth out without the use of Google.

My Digital Life

Hi everyone!! It's my first time to create a blog for sharing my thoughts, hopefully you could find these interesting. :)

ICQ and MSN were the earliest new-media tools I have used to chat with others. I am a kind of person who is keen on making new friends through those platforms. Instead, I used to chat with my friends and classmates. That was my very first experience with new-media.

I have forgot since when did I start to use facebook and leave MSN aside. The little "f" have been influencing the whole world and defining a new generation of new media. It's a matter of fact that we couldn't stop logging in everyday to see what's going on around your friends. Even though I hardly ever post a status or add a photo, I do enjoy keeping up with others' latest status or photos as I could know more about them.

Do you have the same feeling? You are welcome to comment or share your idea!
